...and with it, LOTS of good stuff! Brian is working hard on a life-sized firefighter, which will be unveiled at the end of the month. (Look for images on facebook.) This is one of Brian's most technical pieces to date, and a project that he is certainly proud to be a part of.
Portland Saturday Market kicks off its 40th season this weekend, and we'll be there sporting our stylish new setup. The first weekend is a great time to check out what the artists have been working on during the off-season, so come by and say hi!
And, if you happen to be in the San Francisco neighborhood, pop into Hotel Zetta (which just had its grand re-opening last week) and get a close up look at one of Brian's latest dog sculptures. It's featured in the hotel's lobby, and seems quite happy in its new home.
C’mon Spring…!
Wow, 2013 sure seemed to sneak up on us! This year is already off to a great start with lots of promising commissions lined up all the way through this summer.
The word of the year seems to be DOG...lots of clients are seeking some Brian Mock pups for their businesses, homes, and even town-squares! (I must admit, I can understand the allure of these majestic statues that bring life to any space, but are also champions at sitting and staying!)
Bulletin! Look for a special installation coming this summer to our very own Lake Oswego!
For now, we are keeping busy with work and keeping warm with lots of homemade soup.
Happy 2013!
Well, now that the rain has started, it's officially Fall for us here in Portland. We've been enjoying our month long hiatus from the market, but we haven't been any less busy because of it! I've added some images of Brian's latest pieces to the site, including the gorgeous wine bottle he finished up last month, so take a peek to see what he's been up to. More to come soon, as always.
Brian has been featured in a new book!

Wow, it's been far too long since an update was posted here. I blame it on the exciting amount of work that has been coming our way, coupled with our lazy intoxication with our long lost friend, the sun! Summer brings out the commissions, and we sure love commissions, particularly for their totally unexpected and random subject matter. Each proposal is a small surprise, and an enticing challenge for Brian to stretch his creativity and his portfolio! Recent and upcoming projects include a trumpet, a firefighter, a VW Bus, and even an accordion! For images, visit our facebook fanpage. In the meantime, Brian will be hard at work on the grindstone...and the grill.
We are a little notorious for sleeping in on Sunday mornings. But, with a weekend forecast like this one's (Sunny & 70's BOTH days!) we guarantee to be at the Portland Saturday Market BOTH days this weekend! How often does anyone guarantee anything these days? So, we'd love for you to come out this Sunday and prove us right! (Of course, you can come out on Saturday, too...) Enjoy the sun, Portland!
Just a quick note to share our excitement about Brian's first gallery presence overseas! Jack Tierney Gallery of Aberdeen, UK, will now be representing Brian's work in Scotland! The gallery's grand opening is June 1st. Check out www.jacktierneygallery.com for info, and our facebook page for upcoming details. Many thanks to Fiona Jack for making this opportunity possible.
We're happy to announce that we've been doing lots of work to the website during these last few days. That said, please excuse any faulty links, wacky spacing, or any other construction-related issues as we add, change, and update! (Hopefully you won't find any but it may come as a shock that we aren't the most tech-savvy of couples in the world, so we can't make any guarantees until the final, final check!)
Anyway, thanks for your patience, encouragement, and support!
Karen
This is a short and sweet reminder to come see us THIS WEEKEND (3/3 & 3/4) at the Portland Saturday Market. Lots of goodies to behold!
Thanks, and we'll see you there!
Well, it's been quite a while since we've updated this page, and it's about time that one of us got on it...especially with all of the exciting stuff that's been happening around here lately!
In between some really cool commissions, including a 3ft. kinetic action figure and a life-size bantam rooster, Brian's been meticulously working on some extremely technical 6 string electric guitars, and the results are truly outstanding! Check out his facebook fan page all this week, where I'll be posting the very first images of these completed beauties.
With all of these projects, it's hard to believe that the Portland Saturday Market will be starting up again in just a few short weeks. Brian's been stocking up on some market best sellers (silverware bowls, to be exact) but also has some amazing new pieces that we'll reveal to the public for the first time opening weekend. (Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th. Visit portlandsaturdaymarket.com for more market details.)
I'm also happy to announce that we've created a new mailing list, where subscribers will enjoy email updates, discount and promotion offers, and info on upcoming events. (Preview: Look forward to a spring newsletter with info of our very first Home Gallery Opening!) You can subscribe right now by clicking the email list link on the right side of this page.
Another one of our many goals for 2012 is to finally finish up this website and to keep it updated, so look forward to that happening, too!
And, as always, we love your feedback! Brian gets most of his inspiration from his fans and critics, so let us know your thoughts and what you'd like to see more (or less!) of!
Thanks, everyone, for checking in! Can't wait to share more news as we venture further into what is sure to be a great year in art.
Karen
We still haven't figured out how to post pictures on this blog, so for now you'll have to venture over to facebook to check out our latest images. This week you can see the 1 of the 4 trophies that Travel Portland (travelportland.com) commissioned for the Portland segment of the DEW Tour. (allisports.com/dew-tour/event/portland-2011)
Still banging away at the rest of this summer's endless list of commissions, and loving all of the new space.
Just a quick update to let everyone know that there will be some cool new product at Saturday Market tomorrow. The pieces we're excited about the most are the 20 and 27 in. long choppers! We'll post a picture soon, but they're much cooler in person, so come down this weekend and check them out!
Hi Everyone and welcome to our new blog! We are Brian and Karen, and together we'll be posting frequent updates and musings to keep you informed and connected with what's going on here. (We'll also be including videos and images of new projects.)
We enjoy hearing your thoughts and comments, so feedback is strongly encouraged!
Thanks for checking this out, and remember to check back often. We promise, if you can pull yourselves away from facebook for just a few minutes each week, it'll be worth your while.
Thanks and see you soon!
